ABOUT

I am a printmaker living in Newcastle upon Tyne.
I specialise in woodcut, although in the past I have created prints using etching, drypoint and lithography.
I studied Fine Art at Newcastle University in the 1980's where I developed an interest in printmaking, and I became a member of Charlotte Press in Newcastle in the late 1980's. I have been printmaking for the last 30 years or so though not continuously, time raising children meant that printmaking took a back seat for some years. For the last 12 years I have been a member of Northern Print where I occasionally print and teach woodcut. My studio is in my home, and I have recently bought an Albion Press which has enabled me to continue printing - my previous tool being a wooden spoon and elbow grease.
Studio
My studio is spread over two rooms at home. In a spare bedroom I design my prints, make my woodcuts, make collages, and mount and frame work. In the back room downstairs is my Albion press, and there I do my printing.
Workshops

I have taught workshops at Northern Print and other venues for the past 8 years, specialising in woodcut, but also teaching drypoint and supporting printing activities for young people.
